Mens Bonspiel
The Fraser Lake Curling club Men’s Bonspiel has a good turnout and everyone had a great time. Thank you to all the out-of-town teams from Smithers, Burns Lake & Vanderhoof for supporting us.
The event was kicked off Friday evening at 7:00 with games and and a social evening with lots of snacks, refreshments and friends swapping curling stories.
Saturday afternoon a hot shots match was held on the ice and won by Mike Bomberger, Jim Spinks & Phil Canaday split 2nd & 3rd. A remote control car race kept everyone entertained with lots of crashes and off roading and was won by Shawn Nicol.
Saturday evening the men were serves a nice dinner of BBQ steaks, baked potato, salads and lots of desserts, thanks to Lynette Venera and Doris Spinks who did the barbecuing and Karen Lindstrom who was in charge for the deserts and salads.
After a long weekend of curling and good times the prizes of cash trophies and prints were handed out.
Thank you to Endako Mines and Fraser Lake Sawmills for their continued support of the A & B division trophies. Our big trophies have a lot of history and tell the stories of many good curlers in our past. Pat Smith is working to get them all updated.
