| | Summer Drop in Parks - Vanderhoof  | | | 8/25/2008 | 11:00AM - 4:00PM | | | Come for a little, stay for a while. Join us for any time for crafts, games and other fun activities! General supervision provided to facilitate games and crafts. This means your child is free to leave the park at any time.

July 7- Slime Day. Jell-o tag, slurping contest and all kinds of slime. Come down in old clothes and get messy with us.
July 14- Painting Piñatas. Pick a piñata to decorate any way you like. If there is time we will crack them open to see what is inside!
July 21- Race Car Rally. Build a course and race your car against others that come. (Remember to bring your own remote controlled car)
July 28- Rock Painting. Pick a rock to decorate or paint a pet.
Ferland Park
Aug 11- Frisbee Golf. Try your hand at a round of Frisbee golf. Later we will dive into science and make Lava Lamps.
Aug 18- Tie-dye. Make a bandana or headband 70’s style or bring down your own item to tie-dye.
Aug 25- Dioramas. Build your own scene, or create one of ours (Grassland, wetland or Forest).

Wednesday nights will alternate between Outdoor Soccer and Biking and Thursday will be Roller Hockey for persons aged 9 and up. (See Sports Night Schedule)
* It is MANDATORY that participants bring safety equipment for all activities put on by the District of Fort St. James Recreation.

July 8- Gremlin Bugs. Rock paining if you have a rock to paint bring it, or pick one of ours to garnish.
July 15- Chia- Chia. Create your own Chia head!

July 29-Paint and Plant. Decorate a pot then plant a flower!
Aug 5- Mr or Miz Potato Head. Eyes here and a nose there, make your own potato person.
Aug 12- Flower Power. Make jewellery or key chains for you or mom! Flower collages to.
Aug 19-Stepping Stones. Start with a short hike to find stuff for our garden stones, and then create!
Aug 26- Gremlins Choice. This will be the last Gremlin session of 2008, we will repeat the most favourite session!

July 8- Sand Art: Come and play in the sand! Make paperweights and pictures using coloured sand.
July 15- Dough Art. All artists’ start somewhere come in and create your own masterpiece.
July 22- Kite Making. Let’s go fly a kite… oh wait I don’t have one. Come in and build a kite and if the wind is right we will try them out after.
July 29- Carvings of the Artic. Create a replica of traditional Alaskan Art out of plaster of paris.
Aug 5- Beading. Chose from a variety of beads to create animal creatures, daisy chain bracelets or other items from hemp.
Aug 12- Picasso faces. Clip this and that from another picture to make your own.
Aug 19- Wire Art. Twist it, bend it, strip it, and coil it. Do just about anything you want to create your own jewellery or work of art.
Aug 26- Origami.

Start off with a trip to the Exploration Place to see various live species, dig for dinosaur bones and attempt science experiments. Take a ride on the Cimex Virtual Voyage. Next, head to Fort George Park for an afternoon on the playground and in the water park, bring your bathing suit.

Spend the day at the beach with other kids from Fraser Lake. Lifeguard on duty. Swimming, games and lunch provided. Bring your own snacks and an extra water bottle. Kayak lessons available with Backwater Paddling for those interested (space is limited). Must pre-register at the District of Vanderhoof office, 567-4711. Please indicate if wanting kayak lessons.
