A municipal system provides the village’s water supply from Fraser Lake.

Garbage and Industrial Waste
Area "D" (Fraser Lake Rural)Transfer Station, is owned by the Regional District of Bulkley - Nechako.  Residential refuse is collected on a weekly basis and up to four times per week for commercial operations depending on need: The landfill site is approximately 3 km (2 miles) from the Village:

Post Office
Canada Post offers a complete range of postal services including daily mail delivery to centralized post office boxes, registered, certified, worldwide, courier, etc. Three Canada Post outlets service the area from locations at Fraser Lake Shopping Center, Endako and Fort Fraser.

Newspapers
The Omineca Express, a weekly publication covers local issues in the Fraser Lake, Fort Fraser, Endako, Vanderhoof and Fort St. James communities. Its present subscription circulation within Fraser Lake is 218.

FL COMMUNITY CURRENT is a free monthly newspaper delivered to all residents of Fort Fraser, Fraser Lake and Endako.

The Prince George Citizen is a daily paper which has a present circulation of 350 in Fraser Lake, as well as a free press distributed to all households in Fraser Lake.

Safety and Health Services

Fire Protection
A Fire Chief and a crew of volunteer fire fighters, who receive an honorarium for the calls they attend, staff the Fraser Lake Fire Department.

Police/RCMP
The Fraser Lake Detachment consists of 6 members:

  • 1 Sergeant
  • 4 Constables
  • 1 Public Servant

Their jurisdiction encompasses the Stellaquo Reserve on the west end of Fraser Lake and the Nadleh Reserve on the east end. Policing concerns differ little between the communities.

Health Services

The Fraser Lake and District Health Society operate the Fraser Lake Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

This facility offers:

  • The services of 2 doctors offices
  •  X-ray facilities
  • Laboratory
  • Public Health Nurse

Patients requiring standardized care are referred to the nearest hospital in Vanderhoof 56 km east of Fraser Lake. For more serious conditions and acute care, patients are directed to Prince George Regional Hospital. Emergency service is available by air to Prince George.
