A Delegation
There are many instances in which people wish to come before Council to raise concerns or address issues they feel are of importance to the community. Such an appearance before Council is called a “delegation”.
Any person(s) wishing to appear before Council as a delegation must submit in writing outlining the subject to be addressed and have the request delivered to the Clerk's office by Friday at noon prior to the next regularly scheduled meeting (six days prior). As a delegation you will be taking part in a formal meeting at which Council conducts the official business of the District.
All meetings are held in Council Chambers located at 160 Connaught Street, Vanderhoof, British Columbia and being at 5:00 pm.

The public is also welcome and encouraged to attend regular council meetings.

The Mayor (or Acting Mayor) is the chairperson of the meeting, and all comments are to be directed to the chairperson. It is appropriate to address the chairperson as Your Worship or Mayor Fox (or the appropriate name of the Acting Mayor). If you have an occasion to address others in Chambers, it is appropriate to address them as Councillor ____ or, if addressing staff, Mr. or Ms. _______.
There is a 15-minute time limit for delegations to make their presentations. Once the delegation has concluded its presentation, Council may take the opportunity to ask questions. |
