The Vanderhoof Hospice Society is a non-profit organisation that works with other caregivers in the community to provide compassionate care for people who are at their end of life journey, and give support to those who love them.
Hospice is part of a team of care givers who, together, provide expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored to the patient's needs and wishes:
- Family physicians
- Hospice Co-ordinator
- Nurses, hospital and home care
- Dietician
- Clergy
- Physiotherapist
- Home support workers
- Volunteers
These services can be provided at home, through day care or in the hospice itself.
Hospice care is free to patients and their families and is available to everyone regardless of race, color or religious belief.
