The goal of the Chamber of Commerce is to promote the town of Fort St.James and business in the area.  The Chamber of Commerce promotes and supports local business and encourages others to do the same. We area member of the BC Chamber of Commerce and also operate a Tourism BC accredited year round Visitor Information Centre. 

The Chamber of Commerce and all of those who are involved in its operations have also worked to implement events that bring visitors to the area.  Some of these events are the Annual Stuart Lake Fishing Derby, and Thunder on Ice Snowmobile Races.  We also host luncheons with guest speakers intended to inform people about issues that are impacting business in Fort St. James.

The Fort St. James Chamber of Commerce was established in Fort St. James in 1982.  The Chamber is goverened by a Board of Directors who are elected at an Annual General Meeting.  The Chamber recieves funding from the District of Fort St. James, from Tourism BC to operate the Visitor Information Centre, as well as from governement grants.
