What Types of Attractions are in Vanderhoof?
Vanderhoof prides itself on the type of events it offers. Throughout the year we entertain our visitors and citizens with arts, culture, sports and historic events. Annually on Halloween Day, the great Pumpkin Walk is sure to please with hand-carved pumpkins and the annual fireworks display that lights up the entire Nechako River Valley.
Be sure to take in the Annual Parade of Lights in Vanderhoof and the Legacy of Lights at Saik'uz Park on the first weekend of December. The floats, vividly decorated and lit up, wind their way through the main streets of Vanderhoof . During the evening most retailers offer shopping until midnight and offer many great sales.
During the summer months, be sure to stop by our spray pool or fly your kite in Vanderhoof's Riverside Park, right next to the Bird Sanctuary on the Nechako River. The Annual Fall Fair is a must for horse lovers and farming enthusiasts. The Hooterville Hoot is a wonderful show and shine that will please the car enthusiast in your family. The fascinating Heritage Museum is open from the end of May to Labour Day weekend.
